MONOPOLY GO’s McDonald’s Monopoly collab is back for 2026. Starting October 14, 2026, Scopely’s mobile hit is tying into the real-world McDonald’s Monopoly promotion in the US again, and this time there’s a free reward even if you never set foot in a McDonald’s. Here’s what’s actually in it, how long you have, and how to grab the no-purchase-necessary freebie.
What happened
McDonald’s Monopoly Game returned to US restaurants on October 14, and MONOPOLY GO! (iOS and Android) is riding along with it for a second straight year. The first version of this crossover ran back in September 2025, so this is a repeat event rather than something brand new, but the rewards list has changed.
The physical side works the way McDonald’s Monopoly always has: peel a game piece off eligible packaging, then scan or enter it through the McDonald’s app. That part is limited to the 50 US states plus DC, and you have to sign up for the promotion inside the app before you play. The grand prize on the McDonald’s side is $100,000 toward gold bars, split between up to two winners, plus the usual food prizes.
On the MONOPOLY GO! side specifically, two cosmetic items are tied to the collab: a McDonald’s Fries Token and a McDonald’s Roller Dice Skin, both purely visual and with no effect on gameplay. There’s also a bundle drop — 10,000 bundles of 5,300 dice rolls are being handed out, dice being the currency that powers board movement in the game.
Why it matters
The part that actually matters for most players outside the US, or anyone who just doesn’t eat fast food, is the free Fry Guard Shield. It’s a cosmetic shield skin, no purchase or app sign-up for McDonald’s required, and it’s claimable through a direct link rather than the restaurant promotion. That’s the detail that makes this worth a quick mention even if you’re not chasing gold bars: a free skin with no real-world strings attached, sitting in a game that’s normally pretty aggressive about monetizing cosmetics.
It’s also a reminder that MONOPOLY GO! leans hard on brand tie-ins to keep its live-ops calendar full. A second year of the same McDonald’s partnership says the first one worked well enough for Scopely and McDonald’s to run it again, which tracks given how consistently MONOPOLY GO! sits near the top of mobile grossing charts.
How to get it
For the free shield: grab it through the direct claim link circulating via MONOPOLY GO!’s official channels and in-game news feed, no McDonald’s app needed. It stays in your collection until January 8, 2027, so there’s no rush.
For the restaurant promotion: you need the McDonald’s app, a US delivery address or location, and eligible packaging from a participating restaurant. Sign up for the Monopoly Game promotion in the app first, then peel and scan pieces as you go. The physical promotion runs through November 1, 2026.
If you’re chasing the dice bundles specifically, keep an eye on MONOPOLY GO!’s in-app events tab over the next couple of weeks — Scopely typically rolls limited-time bundle claims out in waves rather than all at once. FAQ
Do I need to live in the US to get anything from this?
The restaurant-based prizes (gold bars, food, the McDonald’s app entries) are US-only. The free Fry Guard Shield cosmetic is available outside the US too, since it’s claimed through a direct link rather than the McDonald’s app.
Does the McDonald’s Fries Token affect gameplay?
No. Like the Roller Dice Skin, it’s purely cosmetic and doesn’t change dice odds, shield strength, or anything else mechanical in MONOPOLY GO!.
Did you grab the free shield yet, or are you going for the McDonald’s packaging pieces too? Let us know in the comments.

Honestly, the free Fry Guard Shield is the only part of this I’d bother with since I don’t live in the US anyway — a no-strings cosmetic in a game this monetized is rare enough to grab.
