Marvel Snap Patch Notes: Vampires vs. Zombies Update Reworks Dracula, Adds Deck Bundles

Marvel Snap’s “Vampires vs. Zombies” season update and its October 20, 2026 patch notes just went live, and the marvel snap patch notes bring more than the usual balance tweaks: a full card rework, a brand-new monetization feature called Deck Bundles, and a long bug-fix list from developer Second Dinner. Here’s everything that changed and why it matters if you’re still grinding ranked on your phone.

    What happened

The Vampires vs. Zombies season kicked off October 6, 2026, built around two new card archetypes. Zombie cards build a shared “Horde” Power pool that only ever grows during a match, while Vampire cards steal Power directly from your opponent’s cards, hand, or deck. The season’s weekly card drops have been Zombie Venom, Vampire Enchantress, and Zombie Black Cat, with Vampire Deacon Frost (which transforms into Crimson Behemoth) still to come on October 27. Two new locations, Undead Metropolis and the upcoming Crimson Citadel, lean into the same theme.

The October 20 patch is where the real changes landed. Kid Omega and Dracula got reworked so both now gain the Power a destroyed or discarded target had, matching how Venom already worked, which fixes the long-standing complaint that Kid Omega could whiff completely against big targets. Dracula’s base stats moved from 4/1 to 4/2 to offset losing a quirky old interaction with Apocalypse. A bug affecting Nico Minoru’s Power-doubling Spell, which wasn’t always triggering correctly off Firehair or transform effects like Sersi, was also fixed. Fastball Special and Web Sling lost their X-Men/Spider-Verse tags, a tagging cleanup rather than a gameplay change, and a planned Mastery Rank overhaul got pushed to a future update.

The patch also quietly fixed a pile of smaller issues: Superior Ironman’s movement interaction with Madame Web, Peni Parker’s bonus Energy being visible to opponents when it shouldn’t be, a Deadpool’s Diner map-pairing bug, and various VFX, SFX, and localization fixes.

    Why it matters

The headline for players who care about their wallet isn’t a card at all, it’s Deck Bundles. These are pre-built, ready-to-play decks, usually 12 cards with smaller 3- and 6-card versions, sold as single purchases in the Web Shop and in-game Shop. Second Dinner says pricing is personalized, discounted based on which cards your account already owns, and more bundle waves are coming through November. It’s a new way for Marvel Snap to sell Power directly rather than just cosmetic variants, and it’s worth watching if you’d rather not see pay-for-power creep into a game that’s mostly stayed cosmetic-first. I think it’s a reasonable bet that this becomes a bigger part of the monetization mix if the first wave sells well, so don’t be surprised if deck bundles show up more often.

On the gameplay side, the Kid Omega and Dracula changes matter more than they might look. Both cards were in a rough spot competitively because the Power-destruction math didn’t line up with what players expected, and this patch brings them in line with cards that already worked that way.

    What’s next

The Vampires vs. Zombies season runs through the rest of October, with Vampire Deacon Frost and the Crimson Citadel location both landing October 27, alongside the Deadpool’s Diner event running October 27 through November 3. The postponed Mastery Rank overhaul is expected in a later update, with no confirmed date yet. It’s a similar pattern to how other live-service mobile games keep rolling out collab content between major patches, like Seven Knights Re:BIRTH’s recent Demon Slayer collab. The update is already live, so Android and iOS players just need to update through the Play Store or App Store to see the changes.

    FAQ

Is Marvel Snap’s October 20 update live on both iOS and Android?
Yes. The patch rolled out to both platforms at the same time through the usual App Store and Play Store update channels.

Do Deck Bundles mean Marvel Snap is becoming pay-to-win?
Not automatically. Deck Bundles sell pre-built decks of cards you can already earn for free through normal progression, and pricing is discounted based on cards you already own. It’s a new revenue angle rather than a confirmed shift toward exclusive paid power, but it’s one worth watching if you’re trying to keep the game free-to-play friendly, which is a topic we cover in our guide to mobile games without pay-to-win.
