News date: October 9, 2026. Gryphline and developer Mountain Contour announced on October 6 that Arknights: Endfield’s next major update, “Sanctuary of Ink,” launches October 15, 2026, the same day the game finally arrives on Steam. Endfield is already live on iOS and Android, so the update lands for mobile players too, not just the new PC crowd.
What happened
Arknights: Endfield has been running on PlayStation 5, PC (via the official launcher and Epic Games Store), iOS, and Android since launch. On October 15 it adds a Steam version with cross-platform progression, so anyone who’s been playing on phone can carry a save straight onto a Steam Deck or gaming PC. The same day drops “Sanctuary of Ink,” a story and content update built around Si’s Painting, a hand-drawn world where literal brushstrokes form bridges between areas. Players explore the painted landscape, settle into the Yuanyuan Manor Inn, and face a trial at the end of the new chapter.
Two new Operators join through the update’s recruitment banners. Si is a Feranmut Proxy and innkeeper who can rip an Inksoul off an enemy and redirect the damage back at them, while also buffing Cryo and Heat teammates. Argent Flow fights on horseback with his warhorse Nuli, mixing sword and spear attacks into a leaping finisher. Both arrive through separate, successive banners rather than together.
The update also brings back Contingency Contract under the name Indigo Experimental Operation, with selectable modifiers that can make fights harder (and sometimes weirder) in exchange for better rewards. There’s a new farming and cooking mini-game called Yuanyuan’s Blazing Stoves, where you grow crops, raise animals, and cook for guests, plus an Auto-Farmer to handle the repetitive planting and harvesting. On the quality-of-life side, Endfield is adding saved equipment loadouts, tighter mouse targeting, adjustable combo-skill priority, and the ability to place field gear straight from storage instead of carrying it around first.
Why it matters
I think the Steam launch is the bigger deal long-term, honestly, since it puts Endfield in front of a PC audience that might never have touched the mobile version. But for the people already grinding this on a phone, the actual content that matters is Si’s Painting and the two new Operators, plus whatever the Indigo Experimental Operation modifiers end up doing to the meta. Cross-platform saves also mean mobile players aren’t locked out of whatever the PC crowd gets first.
What’s next / how to get it
“Sanctuary of Ink” and the Steam release both go live October 15, 2026. Mobile players don’t need to do anything special, the update should roll out through the normal App Store and Google Play update channels on that date. Si and Argent Flow become recruitable through their respective banners once the update is live, each running for a limited time before rotating out.
FAQ
Is Arknights: Endfield coming to mobile for the first time with this update?
No. Endfield has been available on iOS and Android since its original launch. October 15 adds a Steam version and the “Sanctuary of Ink” content update, which applies across every platform including mobile.
Will my mobile progress carry over to Steam?
Gryphline says the Steam release supports cross-platform progression, so existing players should be able to continue on PC with the same account and progress they built on mobile.

Honestly the Steam cross-save is what I’d try first, going from grinding this on my phone to seeing it on a real screen sounds like a solid excuse to replay the early chapters.
