Frontier Legends Announced: Open-World Survival in the Wild West
Canadian developer Neojac Entertainment has revealed its new project, Frontier Legends. The Western-themed open-world survival game will enter Early Access this spring, with a demo available this weekend during Steam Horse Fest.
In Frontier Legends, players step into the role of a newcomer arriving by train to the harsh American frontier. Survival means choosing your path—hunter, trader, lawman, or outlaw—while managing crafting, exploration, and settlement-building mechanics. Dynamic weather, day-night cycles, and unscripted NPC encounters aim to keep the world unpredictable and alive.
Settlement building is one of the game’s standout features. A small camp can grow into a thriving frontier town, with NPC settlers assigned to farming, production, resource gathering, and defense. The town’s success depends entirely on player leadership.
Exploration plays a central role, with ancient ruins, abandoned camps, and hidden treasures scattered across the map. Wild horses can be tamed, each with unique traits that affect travel, combat, and survival.
Multiplayer modes will offer both cooperative and competitive play. Players can trade and build towns together or raid rival groups. Frontier Legends promises to merge the grit of the Wild West with the depth of open-world survival gameplay.
